I was just wondering if anyone else is having trouble facing toon link with G&W, when I play with my friend he beats me almost every time and online most toon links beat me. They just shoot the stupid little projectiles until I have to go to them, and then slash me when I do.

Can someone tell me if toon link is too good or am I just crap?

Yeah, Toon Link is definitely good. However did you ever try swatting away the projectiles with B-airs? You could do that in Melee. *shrug*

Too bad, I don't think you can Bucket the stuff. =(

yea fire doesn't count as energy for G+W's bucket. not even an arrow would suck it.

My advice, powershield projectiles and get into his face as fast as possible in catching toon link with a back air.

Powershield or dash crouch under projectiles, or approach with uB. Then go into d.air, f.air, b.air. Also, neutral B isn't so bad...

Neutral air destroys every projectile Toon Link can use, while causing big damage on TL. It also outranges TL's attacks, even though they're disjointed. I hate that. Just so you remember to spam nair.

ive been having trouble mainly with the down airs, with other characters i can shield one and then up smash before the second, but g&w's up smash is too slow. Mindgames with uair work to an extent but i really have no way around that stupid dair, any suggestions?

I usually just try to move out of the way/roll and then go get him when he lands, or try shielding and up tilt (haven't tried the second one b4)
