I had planned on using Peach as my main in Brawl since day one, and I wasn't going to change my mind till I at least gave her a shot. After playing for a bit, I'm certainly not giving up on her, she may not be quite as good as she was in Melee, but then, a lot of characters were brought down a notch for the sake of balance, so that's nothing to fret about. Peach has been my main since very early on in Melee, and I'm not about to change that.

Um... why would you consider not maining peach reinforcement to the idea that you would know whether or not peach sucks in Brawl? Seems counterintuitive to me... I mean, I agree with you, but Peach was my secondary character in Melee, and I still don't go around spouting my opinion as fact.

And another thing, according to the character ratings in the Prima players guide, she's still one of the top 7 characters in the game, and the only character rated higher than her on their 1-10 scale is Marth.

In Nintendo's Melee guide, all the character's (running) speed who were considered 2/5 were given a 2/5 rating

And all sword characters had one more point added to their rating.

I planned to use ZSS or meta knight going into brawl, maybe even ice climbers or De^3, but after last 48 hours I am back to only using Peach again. She is great, just have to play smart. Small chain grabs at super low percents are fun~turnip mind games~floating dair to fair~oh my. She's great.

I still enjoy using Peach in "Brawl"! :grin: So far, the only nerf that is truly kinda irritating to me is her virtually nonexistent second jump. >_> Using the Umbrella move helps me with that, though. :)

Yeah, that annoys me too, particularly when I feel like I could have gotten a smash ball if I could just get a little bit more height out of her jump.

Peach is still my main. Even though I lost all my matches with her against my friend last night online I still haven't been able to do better with any other character. It was quite a shock losing to him because I used to beat him all the time in Melee. I just have to get better though to get back to dominance.

I still need to give Peach an honest shot in Brawl, especially since she was one of my best characters in Melee. Overall she feels like she lost a lot, but I imagine it's probably similar to what I've been finding about Samus. She's still good, just... different.

Ever notice how 2/3 of those people are also *****ing about the changes in Brawl in general? For the Peach players, probably because they can no longer dsmash someone to death like they were able to in Melee. Keep in mind that these people are Melee pros, not Brawl pros, and that there are no Brawl pros yet.

People have found new things with Peach, such as the dtilt glide and turnip pull tricks. Since it's easier to catch items, if someone catches and throws your turnip or if it bounces off of them, you can recatch it during an aerial attack.

Recovery still matters. Ask anyone who plays Olimar, Ivysaur, or Zero Suit Samus. Though I don't think Peach's recovery is as good in Brawl compared with the rest of the cast.

This isn't Melee. People should stop trying to play Peach as dsmash queen and do something different with her for once.

But when you count in the fact that peach bomber gives you horizontal movement and some protection while doing so, and if you have your float and aerials/turnips, you can fake people out and protect yourself while coming back.

But she's still got nothing on R.O.B.s recovery...

I never said it was bad. It's not as good compared with the rest of the cast. Looking at Melee, she had one of the best recoveries. In Brawl, there are now more characters with multiple jumps and higher vertical recoveries. So she's now closer to the middle.

Peach IS good... but not great... definitely hit with the nerf bat but it doesn't mean she's the worst character in the game like many make her out to be. It's very possible to still be good and own people with Peach, just not AS possible as it was in Melee or as it is with some other characters in Brawl...

I played my friend online again last night and this time was able to win three matches with Peach out of about eight or nine matches. I'm starting to get the hang of her techinques now involving defense primarily which helps greatly such as mastering pulling out Toad at the right moments; something I never did in Melee

Your right on this one. When I first played this game I wanted to pull off the same offensive stratagies as Melee. I just wasn't used to losing so many matches because I was trying to apply the same Melee techniques that won a great deal of matches. In Brawl I now use Toad and the Peach bomber quite often, but in Melee I rarely, if ever used these moves. Brawl is about learning new ways to win and it's becoming more fun trying to discover these tactics. It will be interesting to see what combos Peach players will come up with.

So cause she is not affective like the rest (As you claim) she is not good? And saying to give up on her. I'm sorry but I laughed my azz off reading this. I wonder how you play Peach. People like this, I am dieing to see videos of. Since they seem to know Peach's metagame in brawl after a month. Ha ha ha!

People who like Peach and wanna get good with her, dont pay mind to this. Dont quit her of rash opinions such as this. People cant use Peach well and thats it, she is garbage, let me pick someone like Marth or snake or Pit. What can Peach do? I sure you ask yourself that. and if not you should. and find out the answer people you go off saying things like that.

I'm sorry for this rant and I know its an opinion, but I trully get tired of seeing crap over and over......and over this after a months worth. and a weeks worth for people who just played it for the first time in the american version.

I bet you anything If Peach was to be used godly and recreated by a person and she starts to beat the **** out of everyone, you think twice about statements like that and say she is a good character. Nothing but foolish statements.

If you think about it they it wasnt so much as a nerf as it was making her on even level with the brawl characters. She was almost Top Tier in Melee... What u really need to do is compare her in the new game, i find that the changes made her worse of course compared to melee. But i think she still has monster potential as a character when compared to alot of the other characters.

She's no longer a melee character people, this is brawl.
