View Full Version : Best Options After a Parry/PS with Marth?

I'm sure everyone knows that Parrying(or Power Shielding/PSing) in this game is far more practical and will be used at the highest level to punish things that normally wouldn't be punishable.

For those with experience using Ike at a decent level: What are Marth's best options in your opinion after you Parry a move?

Now, I know the answer will vary, so I'll ask it like this:

What are Marth's best options after PSing a

1. A move that is very unsafe

2. A move that is fairly safe and only unsafe because of you PSing it(think moves with big push back. push back is negated if a moe is PSed)

3. A move that cannot be punished even if PSed.

I plan to experiment with all of Ike's options upon getting the game and will be posting my findings here, but what do you guys think?

Since PSing normally doesn't leave Marth in optimal tipper range, I assume finding a go to move in this situation would be tricky. Up B maybe?

Are you going to post this topic in every character board? >_>

Nah

Just Marth,Ike,Samus,Lucas.

Maybe it'd be considered spamming, but I don't see why. Every character has different options right?

But didn't you have this thread in general discussion? Why not bump that?

I don't recall ever making a thread of the sort, but even if I did, wouldn't it be better to have a thread that focuses on ONE character's options?

Well, if this annoys some my apologies in advance. Gimpy is all over the place so I am sure he or another moderator will close it if it's a bad idea.

I found the thread I was thinking of.

http://smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=147576

It basically asks the same thing, only for all the characters.

Yikes, talk about bad timing on my part : (

I'd have to say probably a forward a strike or a dancing blade combo. Something that will either knock them backwards allowing you to go in for a quick kill or a combo that will keep them trapped, build up damage, then ownage

As far as I know, every move can be punished by a parry

Am I wrong on this?

Today I dashed, perfect shield (against projectile), dashed and covered so much ground in such a short period of time it wasn't even funny.
