I don't think it was known before that the Reverse Falcon Punch is more powerful than the normal one, though.

Hopefully the punch will get more gameplay this time around, seeing as how you can change its direction in air.

So.... how long do you have before you can't turn though? That's what I want to know.

yea you can do that in melee, not much of a surprise that you can do it in brawl. althought i didnt know it did more damage

I don't think you read it right g-reg, but you can change direction after the move has started. In melee you could only change direction before you start the move.

This isn't new, it's just easier in brawl... seriously, I used to reverse Falcon Punch all the time in Melee, you could use it in 1v1's if you Mindgamez'd it right.

What I want to know is if there is time to reverse it -twice-. THAT would be effing pimp. XD
And more powerful on the reverse? Oooo..

Whoa, I waited way long to post after I read the topic, G-reg beat me to my point, and then WFL countered my point that G-reg all ready posted... double-pwned.

How the heck do you do it in Melee anyway? I've tried so many times to do it, but I just can't. >_<

You can't change direction while winding up in melee. The new Falcon Punch refers to;
FALCON
*change direction*
PUNCH!
In the last game, the best you could do is
*change direction in air*
FALCON
PUNCH!
In Brawl, you can do both variations. Best way of explaining it. :/

to bad we can't do that with Ikes Eruption!
You had to press B while holding the control stick SLIGHTLY in the opposite direction. If you did it right, Falcon would perform his punch facing the other way. If you're doing a Raptor Boost instead, you're pushing the control stick too far.

No no no, what you do is, when you're in the air you tap the stick in the opposite direction that you're facing and then hit B as soon as you return to neutral position, and you'll do your neutral B in the opposite direction.

This is the Melee method.
Brawl apparently has it different.

I know, but someone asked. So then is Clai's method the way to do it in Brawl (besides the method on the dojo).

Wouldn't tilting the stick just a little and smashing the stick, letting it return to the neutral position whilst pressing b mean you were pressing b with the stick in similiar positions?

Not much. You gotta change the direction immediately after pressing B.
If you're interested how big differences there are between normal Falcon Punch and 180 one, here's some results from my quick testing.
Normal one usually gives 23% or 27% damage, depending how well you hit, while 180 one gives 24% or 28%. With normal 27% hit Falcon Punch Fox needed to be at 42% and Marth at 47% to make sure they'd die without chance of recovering from the middle of Final Destination (no DI). With 28% 180 Falcon Punch damages were 39% and 43% respectively (no DI here either).
Dunno how things would be with some DI involved but without it the slight power boost is pretty much insignificant.
