Bike properties

Wario's bike looks like it's a pretty versitile move, but I really don't know any details about it. So I was hoping someone could answer some questions about it.

-If you ride the bike and jump off in midair, does it take up your 2nd jump?

-Does the bike outprioritize moves like other disjointed attacks (I assume it does, but need to check). Does it clash with swords and other disjointed hitbox attacks, or does it ovveride them?

-How can the bike be destroyed? Does it have a certain % that it gets to before it "dies" or does it depend on something else? Is it affected by whether or not Wario is riding it?

-How do you get back on the bike instead of picking it up?

-I saw a video vs. Kirby where the thrown bike bounced on him several times? Any idea how this works? (I'll try to find and paste the link)

-And most importantly of all, how do you do a wheelie?

It can be destroyed pretty easily. I know if Wario is off the bike it can usually be destroyed with one smash attack. So I'd say 15%ish. Neat thing is, the bike can be used again even with some of the destroyed bike parts on the ground.

-How do you get back on the bike instead of picking it up?

Forward + B

-And most importantly of all, how do you do a wheelie?
All you do is press up I believe.

I am curious as well how it clashes with attacks and how easily can it be destroyed with Wario on the bike?

The bike does not take his second jump, it adds another.

I don't know if it can be destroyed or out-prioritized while Wario is on it. But, if Wario himself is hit, he is knocked off.

What the bike beats out is quite curious. I believe that upon summoning it it either has super armor frames or it simply clashes with the projectiles I'm eating with it. I don't think it's super armor because I've been knocked off bike immediately on summoning it before though. :s

Some things that hit low and only the bike simply get absorbed by the bike and you basically plow through right through them. Toon Links arrows come to mind. But Zero Suit Samus' are too high and you don't catch them after the initial summon.

I spent a few hours yesterday trying to beat a Zamus, I tell you what, Wario is going to have a lot of hard matchups against anyone with half decent projectiles.

It doesn't take your midair jump.

Hitting the bike with anything is like hitting a crate. There is a way to destroy the bike while Wario is still on it, but you'd have to do something devestating for that to happen in one or two hits, which is unlikely. Know that Wario will only fly off his bike if you hit HIM, not his bike.

You get back on by forwardB'ing next to it again

Just think of it like a crate that doesn't break on impact. If it hits someone it will bounce up on them until it can't anymore.

And you do wheelies by just pressing up while riding.

I think that's up for debate... Dedede, for example, doesn't seem like a hard matchup, and he's got a friggin spammable projectile. But that's all I can say: "seem", since I don't have the game yet. I'll have fun trying stuff once I get it.

Oh, and I'll crush any Samus/Zamus I come across. Matter of fact, I'm going to munch people for breakfast, spit them out, **** on them and run them over with my bike. :chuckle:

Here's another question.

Can wario switch directions in the air with his bike?

Lets say he jumps off the stage to the right and uses his 2nd jump still going right... can wario use over B to the left and recover?

To add a property that no may have mentioned : If you jump off the bike it no longer seems to carry the same hitbox if any hitbox.

jamai: After watching some more vids, it looks like you're right. Can anyone test to see if the bike still has a hitbox both in the air and on the ground after wario jumps off it? If it does it looks like it's much smaller.

If it does have a hitbox, the hits if I recall are fairly minor, kinda like having it hit you after being thrown.

I didn't see the video last time. Obviously the wheelie is the best approach and I think the bike was intended to overcome Wario's range problems. I can't wait to try the wheelie next time.

You can hold forward or you can grab a smash ball.

The yoshi's saved wario? that doesn't seem likely... it makes wario sound like some wimp...
