Shine Question

I'm sure most of you know this but I was just wondering; How do you shine cancel?
Also, Can you shine cancel and stay on the ground like you could in Melee?

Yes, you can shine and stay on the ground. Its not really a "cancel" cause you just press B real quick and it shines for you. You an hold it to keep the reflector up though.

Shine-canceling is reducing the lag that occurs after bringing out the shine. In Melee, it was done by jumping, and was very effective because it was much faster to jump out of a shine than to wait for it to disappear.

In Brawl, I believe that jump-canceling the shine is done a bit differently, or is completely gone. There isn't as much lag after the shine, however, in Brawl as opposed to Melee, and there is nearly NO lag when shining in the air, which is why shine stalling (or the J-Shine technique) is possible and effective.
