Hello, i've just recently try to play as a Falcon, and it's pretty pretty hard for me. I don't know how to approach (BTW, i only approach on grab, or aua if he is highter than me, because ana is too far from the ground now). I have trouble comboeing, and hitting ennemies with aeriels while they'r on teh ground. I'm going to post a video soon, for more advices ^^.

Sorry if this thread is useless, but i really need to know why i have some troubles playing him. Thanks=)
And sorry for the grammar, I'm french ! :D

Video ^^. 2 matchs (http://youtube.com/watch?v=i_k6VdF6My4)

Try some >B's and running upsmashes. Either that or try always being in the air, jumping around unpredictably throwing out aerials you think might connect. It's hard to say though, not having the game :P

I noticed you try to shorthop knee a lot, which is not something you should do, especially against a short character like Toon Link who's going to be hard enough to hit with short hop attacks as it is. Once again, Falcon's aerial game is better than his ground game, but unlike in Melee, you can't really short hop aerial standing opponents easily (unless they're like Ganondorf or something). So, what you have to do is use your grabs or tilts (or, if you can squeeze it in, a dashed upsmash) to hit your opponent in the air. In order to do that, you must learn to bait/space yourself so you can grab/tilt your opponent.

You can't really do ridiculous combos anymore (I'm so sad). You might be able to string a launch move to two uairs for a 3 hit combo, but that's about the extent of it (unless, again, your opponent is Ganondorf or of the like). Use your knee more for punishing really laggy moves your opponent does (like Toon Link missing his grab).

The one thing I actually want to work on and see what can be done with is Falcon Kick since Falcon might have to pull out all the tricks now in Brawl.

Try stringing Nairs together. I think I saw a vid of it. And yea the hypen-smashing thing.

The >B is a very useful approach move. And now it is even more useful in the air, as it doesn't let you die after you hit it, and it is a spike. His Nair is good, you can combo it into other aerials again.

And FALCON PUNCH!!1!!1 :P

I've seen I think two people go from grab to u-air to f-air (KNEE!) for the kill. It was nice.

Oh hey, you have vids up.

When I said use up smashes, I mostly meant that from the looks of things, most combos will be started by either throws or attacks done on the ground. Maybe. It's really hard to say without actually playing the game.

Spotdodging isn't very useful for Falcon it seems. Oh, and you don't always have to hit him, a simple edgeguard would have gotten the kill a couple of times.

I did like watching the matches though; you got some really nice combos/kills.

Advice to CF players: unlike in Melee, Zelda owns you.

All of her moves have stupid priority and hitboxes that are larger than they appear.
especially her up smash, it totally stops falcon's air game.
this is what i gather from a night (10+ hrs ) of playing zelda vs falcon matches. of course things may change, or I haven't adjusted to brawl falcon yet.

+1 to the raptor boost. it's awesome, and you can sweetspot the ledge with it.
the falcon punch is close to the speed that it had in smash 64.

more stuff: the gentleman is really easy to do this time
combos will come from dthrow. follow with flip kick or neutral kicks.

and um, falcon kick is good too, has decent priority
