I was wondering who is all the characters that falco can chain grab effectively.
i know for certain he can chain grab the heck out of ganondorf from 0-70-- 100-130 even if i mess up... and he can chain grab Ike from 0-50 -- 90-120 if i mess up... have anybody else tried chain grabbing any other character with falco. my friends only play sonic/wolf/falco/fox/ganon/wario/marth/ike... i need some info bad

D: Why? Oh, and I like your sig. I'm a sucker for anything drawn by hand (well). Or maybe it's not? Either way, I still like it ;P
Good to know Falco CAN chaingrab. I haven't seen anyone do it in videos, and I don't have the game yet so...I can't help much. :( Sorry

*sighs* It's definitely down throw. When I found, I thought "Yes! My one advantage I won't tell people about" <_<. Dickmove, I know, but whatever. It can only be done at low percentages, and it's also good to note that it can be chained into a spike off the edge. My friends who I play with hate me already =P
Winnar: It's hand drawn =P. And yeahs, I lurvs it.

>.> Dickmove or not it wouldn't help you for very long. Even if no one else found out about it except the people you used it on, word would still get out. Besides, if you play online... >_> You see where I'm going with this.
Still, give the artist (if you aren't the artist) my compliments ^^ I really am a sucker for good hand drawn stuff XD

I guess I came late to the party, but is the chain grab his DThrow? and if it is, do you have to dash cancel grab to do it?

Yeah D-throw, and it is easier than the dedede IMO =)

Cool. Does anyone know if there are any vids up of the grab? I just want to see what its supposed to look like, so I know if I'm doing it right.
Can it still be teched if you input quickly enough? In Melee, you can tech in place or tech-roll.

Josh i figured it out aswell while versing imadh when he was wolf and fox, it works on a few characters only though, only if they;re heavy enough with low percents mainly spacies I'd say

From what i was able to do with the chain grab, at low percents, falco can chain grab metaknigt. So i think technically he can chain grab every character. Just some longer than others. That is assuming metaknight is one of the lighter characters.
It was weird though, there really didn't seem to be much difference in characters as far and light weight and heavy weight, it seemed very slight in the differences. I suppose only in chain grabbing would you really notice because everyone just seemed to "float" through the air the same to me :P

I tried this with a computer and I found that I could do it. But I played a human and it never worked the person just DI'd away so I couldn't get another grab out. Especially after they hit about 20%.
Yeah, once you start getting to higher percents (20-40%), couldn't they just DI away? Unless you're playing really bad people who just DI back to you..
I still go by that.

I claim to have once seen a video where someone chain throw'd with falco's fthrow. Maybe the person didn't attack out of it or try to avoid the grab. But then again it might have been fox. Does Falco have the same fthrow as Fox in this game?

Yeah, expected others to find out about it XD. And yeah, it only works on a few... sadly. Some newbs can still be downthrowed to upsmash, so it's all good though.

Sorry, I'm not familiar with a chain grab. Is that when you use a certain grab to put the opponent in a spot that they get grab comboed the hell out of them?
Yeah, once you start getting to higher percents (20-40%), couldn't they just DI away? Unless you're playing really bad people who just DI back to you..
I still go by that.
I am still going by that?
Yes mario. grab, grab, grab, grab, grab, some more grab, is the combo.

Last night I was chaingrabbing my friend's Fox from 0 - 30, then F-smashing him off the side. It works amazingly well.

Can it still be teched? That is the important question. I've tested it a little.
Usually there is a green "bump" mark when you bounce off something, indicating that you can tech at that moment. However, with his Dthrow, I don't see one.

I'm working on fully confirming whether or not the chain grab exists.
It definitely exists on Ike, and Ivysaur from testing. At low %'s from the edge, I've managed to 0% to death with the throw, into a spike.
I've also managed a small grab combo against Toon Link: F-Throw, D-throw.
Yes, these were done vs human players who DI away.
Yes, these were done vs human players who DI away.
I did the same to a Link and A Samus in Wi-fi today.
I don't think it's all that techable, since you appear to get them a split second before they hit the ground, but I know it can be jumped/di'd out of at higher percentages

So far, I've managed to do Ike, Ivysaur, and Dedede to 40%.
Toon Link and Metaknight to 20%.
all I've tested on so far.

I've tried it on computers and you can get them to about 45% but after that they go to far unless they are heavy.

I did a deadly combo against my friend today I chain grabbed him about 4-5 times then lead up with a short hop spike he couldn't get back (he was marth) felt pretty good =]

That's ironic, I have a question about that actually. What percentage do they have to be when toff the edge to dair them? And do you just do a small short hop and dair? Is that it? Will they be in the right position? Thanks, and any videos woulfd be appreciated.

A good Marth (my friend) easily DI'ed away from the D-throw chaingrab, kinda annoying actually, since it works with a lot of other characters.

That could help you : http://smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=156557
But actually in this list, the DI is not considered well for certain characters in "Works on". But anyway that's about that.

How does falco's dthrow spike? He shoots his laser downward at the enemy, and it should stun. I know in Melee, fox could spike with dthrow since his laser does diddly squat, but does it really work with Falco in brawl? Not that its that useful.
IMO, and from watching the video, an experienced player should be able to DI out of it pretty easily, even with heavier characters.

Hey, check out my video, it shows just how effect Falco's chain grab can be.
