thats right, the shield canceled dair is back, and yes it still leaves you with no lag in between landing and ready stance.

at 2:00-2:05 He does the shield canceled dair, he doesn't go of his shield immediately but he could and it leaves zero lag.

How does it work? And how do you perform it, do you just sheild as soon as you land?

In melee, its a the frame you shield on, I believe its around the third or fourth frame,a year after the game came out I could use it semi consistently, its very to do in melee, I Haven't played brawl yet though

It looks more like he was high enough to finish the animation before he landed, but I guess we'll see when we have the game. :)

by shield do you mean L-cancel? im sorry but, like Kio says, he just finished the animation.

auto-canceled aerial, roy in melee did it every time he full hoped and attacked. he couldn't do anything else in the air, but once he landed he had absolutely no lag

dude all of us link main's would love to see that you can L-Cancel the dair, but L-Cancelling is out. RedLink555 is right, the move just ends before he hits the ground.

Its not an l-cancel, there was still significant lag after the dair even with the l-cancel, the shield cancel, completely cancels the lag. Anyway, as I said its untested, but it definetly worked in melee.

Are you sure? I'd like to see a video of a short hopped Dair shield cancel from Melee, since that seems like it would have been an extremely big deal for Link mains, and I've never seen it even mentioned on the boards.

i have first hand experience with the game. his dair finished it animation just b4 it hit the ground. ive done it a few times already.

1. It didnt end before he hit the ground actually watch the video,
2.it dosnt matter anyway because theres a new L-cancel thats been disocvered on the gerneral boards.

I don't really see the big deal with this move anyway, I mean does being able to pull it off really matter? I've never used this "dair" thing and I play quite well against everyone who challenges me.
