So what are Marth's options this time around? I heard that his forward B doesn't work the same in Melee anymore. Is that true.
And also, has anyone tried his neutral B (Shield Breaker) and down B (Counter) as stalls or horizontal recovery measures when he's trying to get back to the edge?

Yea the side B isn't like melee's but the thing with brawl is if you have even average DI you'll make it back to the stage with just your midair jump. I had to use upB to recover just once cause i DIed down. Other than that just drifting back and jumping is usually enough.
My normal recovery pattern was side B, neutral B, jump. Although upB doesn't hurt as it auto sweetspots so you can just drift under the stage to do an upB since you can even grab the ledge backwards.

This may have been answered elsewhere but I was wondering if you can still foil a recovery by edgehogging and rolling off? It sounds like that isn't going to be very useful though because they'll just make it back on stage without needing an Up B. I do like the backwards ledgegrab thingie though.

Actually, I played in a brawl tourny last sunday, and his fully charged neutral B is extremely useful and covers a lot of distance in the air. and yes, it must be FULLY charged or it won't be as effective. A lot of the time, I was in the scenario of coming to the stage from really high up, and I took advantage of the time I had and charged neutral B and it got me around the center of the stage A LOT.

Ah yes Connor. Those were some good vids man. Good job.
I'm not exactly sure how long it takes for a full shield breaker to charge, but I can safely assume that we probably won't be able to use it (fully charged) more than twice in the air. For sure one is good enough considering most blows send people upward, so there's plenty of time to get close to the edge. I guess it's just a matter of mixing things up after that.
And if the first swing of Dancing blades stalls, it might be a nice mix up following a charged neutral B. Hopefully you still have your second jump in this scenario.

some of the brawl vids show marth (DC maybe?) using his side b and it is not anywhere near as effective as it was in melee. it does provide very breif stall time but as said before, it isnt exactly necessary anymore. his up b covers way more horizontal distance to make up for it

FULLY charged Neutral B is probably the most reliable move to use for horizontal recovery. I'm probably the only Marth that uses it for recovery. I had done this recovery yesterday at a tournament and DC had seen it and said "oh **** I learned something today!" xD

There are, but I'm waiting for the guy that recorded matches to put them up.
