Toon Link could ahve been a very unique and cool Zelda character...instead, he turned out to be a Link clone. This is by far not very impressive. However, I think the very basis of his inclusion was a rushed addition because he has 0 involvement in the SSE.

Okay, let's review some moves they could have given him:

Deku Leaf- Recovery that lifts him upwards

Wind Waker- Blows wind at foe (turned out to be a taunt...)

Fire Sword Beam- Sweeps sword and fire beam is launched

Skull Hammer- Link slams the hammer on the ground which sends out shockwaves

Bombchu- Controllable bomb

Grapple Hook- Grapples foe

Tingle Tuner- Icon that you control and drop bomb at

Jump Attack- Recovery that has Link jump up and fall down.

Phantom Hourglass- Creates safety zone where Link is untouchable by projectiles

There are more possibilities, but let's hope for now that his Final Smash is different.

Oh shut up! He's at least in the game isn't he`?

I'd rather have him not be if he is a mere clone. I'd prefer him as an AT so he could maybe demonstrate one unique attack...but all AT do I guess is swing their swords or launch a big beam (that's all Sakurai put into it...)

Besides, the main thread is where we discuss(ed) WW Link's possible movesets.

I second that motion.
I'm gonna go on a HUUGE rampage with this guy, especially if he's a lot like Young Link.

Yeah, the least they could have done was actually make him Wind Waker Link. All he got out of it was the stupid baton, though. The worst part is...they're still gonna call him a newcomer...XD

But he's so awesome :(.

His bow, sword, bombs, etc look so sweet. Sure he could have gotten all those, but he turned out just fine, and that's all that matters.

It has been confirmed that he has the same final smash as link.

I must admit though, I'm somewhat happy that he turned out to be a link clone. Normal Link seems to have gotten pretty solid this gen (maybe rising a tier?) and a slimmer, smaller, more nimple version is my cup of tea.

...I also have this thing were I like charictors that look good and cute. Although That's not the smartest idea... x_x

Also, would his grab move be the grappling hook? I think that would look pretty cool.

I love that he's in the game. That was my wish. Plus, his bombs have the WW explosion to them. Life is good. And he might be alot of fun as a clone. he better be, he's one of my mains.

They had enough time to add a cloned character, nothing else. I'm just glad he was picked over Dr.Mario and Pichu. Or possibly worse, Paper Mario as a G&W clone.

What I'M most irate about is that they gave him the same Fish as Realistic Link (which itself is entirely made up and stupid) instead of:

A Medallion
Fierce Deity Link
Four Sword
Hurricane Blade
Great Flood

I say we all edgeguard Sakurai when he tries to get into development of Fray. He must not recover!

i agree totally with this board...
it's stupid that they would put an EXACT clone of link... just smaller...
worst. clone. ever.

He may have the same attacks, but atleast he took the time to give it a WW feel.

He could have easily jacked Kirby's Hammer (forward B) animations for a Skull Hmamer (neutral B). He could have stolen Peach's parasol animations (most of them) for the Deku Leaf (down B). Overally 3/4 of his B moves are underwhelming, his smashers are okay, what the crap is his final smash (?), and his aerials are GODLY! That is why I shall main him, own you all, and become the God of the Winds!  ;)

Yup, it's a huge shame that he has to be a clone. I don't really understand it, but I guess we'll just have to deal with it. :(

I liked Young Link's style in Melee, so I'll probably like Toon Link as well.

hmmm... clones rule. Pity they had to cut Dr. Mario...
but yeah, I'm not sure about the rest of you, but I'm gonna have fun with this one...

I actually prefer his clone set over other potentials.

His spin attack seems infinitely more useful than using the Deku Leaf, as it has a decent use out of shielding, where sometimes his hookshot just isn't quick enough.

Grapple Hook, Hookshot, w/e they're almost identical to grabbing the edge.

I'd rather throw bombs and have a boomerang to apply constant pressure with to follow up combos, though I could see a Skull Hammer being a useful "Shield Breaker".

I agree, at the very least Deku Leaf should have been utilized for an ^B or a Nair.
Also a final smash change.

guys, stop whining and complaining, nothing is going to change about him. tl's moveset, while similar to links, is completely different in its own way. tl is faster, his moves have less knockback. i say stop complaining and whining about things that arnt going to change, and focus on the ways tl and link are different, not the ways they are the same. toon link is here to stay, and ehs not changing anytime soon

One thing is for sure....

I'll be laughing when WW link turns out to be so crazy, he eats his opponents babies as a victory pose.

To me, the link clone is mainly for those who don't like how normal link plays, but still wants to use the mighty hero of time. So TL and Link are mainly to suit personal preferences.

I just wish his entrance was the Tornado like regular Link's was. He was THIS close to being a perfect NES style Link.

You people who think Toon Link is an exact clone don't know what you're talking about. He is luigified. He has 4 unique A moves, and the rest all have different effects. His B moves are different enough to fit him and make them not usable in the same way Link's are.

He's also way better than Link! lol. Okay, Hero of Winds 4 Ever.

I would like his final smash to be diffrent...maybe him stoping time with the phantom sword or him going in a boat and the tides wash out and KO everyone not on a high enough spot
