You can't blast with G&W, and in G&W's FS you never really land like you do with the Landmaster. Also, Game & Watch can sort of ensnare people with his tentacles, the Landmaster can't.

It still has most of the same properties of the landmaster. Sakurai was probably out of ideas. Not that thats a bad thing. =\
