I've always had troubles with really focusing on stuff. At a certain point I discovered stadium, and it was one of the first things I really tried my very best at. I decided that if I couldn't commit to something as fun as a stadium game, I would probably never be able to commit to things like my exams, piano, music, friends, chores, girls or whatever. I would play for hours on a single target test sometimes. My little brother thought I didn't have a life and my parents were worried about my school results. But after a while I got some of the strategies that at first seemed impossible, like I got mewtwo in 6 seconds.
When I stopped playing stadium, I decided to do some other stuff. First of all I was suprised to see how much time there was without stadium, but I also really commited to the other stuff I did, I got a few A's in school and my piano teacher was really proud of my progress. I went to university (where I still am), I do two majors and live in a house with some of the coolest people on earth, have a lot of hobbies (most of which I regularly practice) and I at one point dated most of the girls I ever liked, and I'm doing a tutoring job on the side. Ofcourse I don't owe that all to stadium, not at all. But it learned me commit to that stuff.
So what my point is, that for me stadium really helped commit to other things in life. I read this in tipo's post in Cort's topic as well, and I really agreed. And yeah, I really haven't got any talent in smash or stadium, my total is still over a minute from the WR total... but that doesn't really matter.
does anyone else have these kind of things?
