So yeah, about a year ago I was in DC++ and got challenged to this and made a vid of it, while I can't find the vid at the moment, I do have my times for each level. It's a pretty fun challenge, and could probably be improved further, and on other difficulties if anyone would want to compete for best times/scores.

Here's the text file I had saved:

This is my video response to Eclipse's CF adventure speedrun. The only thing was that I had to play directly through my capture card and on my comp screen, as I don't have a VCR at the moment to record, so at some points the game got super choppy for me (my computer is pretty terrible), so I did really poorly in those sections (Hyrule and Corneria 1 were the bad spots). Also, the DK levels were done about 4 seconds slower than they should have, the first one I was supposed to just jump back and Falcon Punch, finishing in 1.86 or so, and then on the next one, I was a bit early on hitting him so he didn't get spiked as quickly into the river. Other than that I was mostly pleased with this run.

The other thing I should mention is that I couldn't find my audio cables for plugging the GCN into my comp mic jack, so there isn't sound, but I'll be buying some soon so there will be in future vids of mine.

It's too bad Underground Maze has a random end point, you could have gotten six seconds or so on that.

Now how in the hell did you do Corneria 2 and Battlefield 2 so fast?!

I think I just Falcon Punched for both of them. There are a surprising number of levels where you can just use that right at the start.

The IC's level could probably be mainpulated to that end, making it be barely over the 1 minute mark.

Also, waiting for the 30 second thing on Green Greens 2 would save like 7 seconds.

Other than that, any ideas on improving Hyrule Temple vs Zelda and Onett vs Ness team?

Wow, some of thoose are quite horrible times, no offence :)

If you want help on Onett: I always found that jumping directly to a reverse FP on the lower, shielding thingie or whatever you call it that folds, to be quite easy. Gotten a time for 1.85 seconds if i remember correctly there.

Zelda: Two Falcon punches should be enough, or you could do 3 knees.

No offense taken, I had assumed that most of these would be beaten easily, I just did my run in about 30 minutes, so I didn't have a very good strat (and I play Samus 99% of the time).

Someone should try a single segment of the stuff in that vid, might be even faster than the jigglypuff run that's on [URL=http://speeddemosarchive.com[/URL]. I have to learn a couple new tech things with Samus, but if no one's done it by then I could try my hand at making a vid of it.

I personally think that segmented runs are much better than single segment runs since there's too much luck required. pyh189 did them with every character, and has a lot uploaded on youtube:
