If we can find any...
Melee tourneys will probably be rare after Brawl's release.

Depends on if Brawl sucks and even if it does I am not sure, only time can tell.

If people in my area continue to hold SSBM tourneys, I will continue to attend them.

Yeah. I can't get Brawl right when it comes out, probably couple months afterwards. So I will continue

I'm sorry for your loss.
Or lack of having, I guess.

There will be Melee tournaments. They are going to be just as exciting as ever. I mean not excitingishly exciting, but retro tournament exciting. Melee is a game for life. It's something we cannot take away from us, unless the people are total nub cakes.

If there are still tournaments around my area, sure, why not?

Brawl won't replace Melee obviously. I don't see tournaments stopping when Brawl is out, it is supposed to be a totally different game.

It just depends on the games success.

It pretty much on the supply's, not that many people have Wii's with them. Im guessing give a few months after the game is release then we will see some progress going on

I think after 1 year after Brawl is release there will be no more melee tournies :(

Melee is out dated. Theres no reason to go to those tourneys anymore, especially since Melees gaming community is so small.

O_o I think Melee's gaming community is pretty big.

KingJiggyWiggy-You actually do make a really good point. I am new to the community so it does seem big to me...but you are right...both tourneys ive been too have generally been the same crowd.

Why would we stop going? It's fun, right?

Well think of it this way. Brawl is just around the corner and the only tourney worth going to would be Pound 3.

I doubt Melee will be pushed aside.
They are both COMPLETELY different games. It is like the invention
of Street Fighter destroyed the chess community. lol
Brawl will not have any decent Meta game until months after its release. And the best thing we can do is compare vet characters to their melee counterparts till then. So Melee will be the main
game. And Melee will NOT die when brawl is developed a bit. That sounds so ridiculous! There are lots of people that play SSB64 competitively. And before Melee, the tournement scene was not as strong. So I do not think we will lose too much Melee gamers.
KingJiggyWiggy, do you honestly expect Brawl compettitive players will be completely new people? I expect to the same people at Melee tournaments at the Brawl one for first few months, it will just steadily rise like melee. Unless you are talking about the bajilion Wifi- only users.

Hey, Prince of Fire, didn't we used to talk on AIM?
Anyways, I was actually glad when Brawl was delayed. I still feel I can improve dramatically, so I will always attend Melee tournaments as long as they're being held.
