Good or Bad?
the spinning move is a regular attack, and i never liked that move to much, and the F.L.U.D.D.
is a pushing move which i kinda like but i hope you can aim it up and down and stuff. I liked how simple Mario was, but thats just my opinion, tell me your opinion please.

and I'm new here so if i did anything wrong, just scream at me :lick:

Hello I'm new here as well. I did enjoy how simple mario was as well. He was one of the characters you could pick if you are a first timer. He gives you an all around feel of what the rest of the character are like. I suppose Sakurai is expecting that most of the people who are going to play brawl have played melee. Or at least that they have played SB64. I think mario is still simple bt is not as suited for beginners as he was in the previous games.

The FLUDD will take some getting used to, but I can already see it being a decent edgeguard. The Mario tornado (spin attack) is still part of his moveset, it's his Dair. Mario is one of the best characters, and probably Nintendo's most famous character, but not many people use Mario a lot, and not a lot of people use him right. If you use him right Mario is a beast.

dude I know what you mean, everyone thinks link is the best, but i will beat anyone who uses link always.
i had a Chinese friend who was just as good as me, but i always beat him because of the simple fact mario is better then link.

Lol every1 thinks Link is the best? Look at the tier list.

Probably most people scoffed when they first saw the F.L.U.D.D., since it does no damage, but I think it can be very useful. It said on the site that it pushes very far, so it can be veeery useful for edgegaurding, since you can aim it and push them back while they are doing the recovery move. And from what ive seen the mario tornado is the same as the old d-air except for the finish, which is the same finish as mario tornado. I hope you can still rise with it.

i meant everyone i knew always picked link for melee, and i would always own them, and how do you know he can move the F.L.U.D.D.?

You didn't have to say he was chinese. Just say friend

Hopefully they start give the F.L.U.D.D. a bit more knockback, maybe like 40 - 50 % more of how it is now, since it doesn't do much knockback at the moment. Unless you can charge it up so that you can increase the knockback, which would be a great idea to implement.

With the F.L.U.D.D. , cape and back air (since it's still pretty much the same) Mario is going to be a beast when it comes to edgeguarding.

But for Mario to edgeguard, Mario has to be capable of getting them of the **** stage, which was one of Melee Mario's biggest weakeness. He had absolutely no killing moves (or moves w/ a large amount of knockback) that were viable to use in a real match. His f-smash was a little strange to aim at first, and it weak hits suck. His down-smash was pretty good, but it's knock back was average for a smash, at best. His up-smash was barely used outside of combos from down/up throws and u-tilts.

Brawl's Mario seems to have a answers for all of Mario's weaknesses:
- His F-Smash has the same good knockback, but no longer has weak hits. So think of it as a constant sweet spoted version of Melee's f-smash
- His D-Smash still has about the same amount of knockback, but it's range has increase a bit, which makes it even more effective to sneak under shields or CC-into and be able to knock them off the stage where Mario can really shine
- His Up-Smash reminds me a bit of Sheik's f-air in terms of knockback. It starts with low knockback that makes it very viable for comboing into from u-tilts, down/up throws and more. Once your opponent starts to reach higher percentages, it's knockback scales up pretty well, and makes it a decent killing move.

Even his old down-b (new d-air) seems better. Yea, it did lose the ability to help Mario's recovery, but it could be useful to pop your opponents into the air where you can then combo them into a f-air, u-air, b-air or n-air (pretty much any of his aerial attacks). This is going to be a huge help to Mario's killing ability seeing as now his b-air has always been pretty solid, his n-air has a little more knockback, his u-air can combo into f-air (which is now 1/2 doc punch 1/2 spike, which I believe is a HUGE help to Mario, the ability to use the same move to either vertical kill or spike is extremely useful).

And it also gain you an amazing advantage. You can shoot players of the ledge when charged, and you have a little advantage against players that are in the air and temporary have a hard time moving in the air.

Wait, you can aim it can't you. If you can, let's say that Bowser is trying to recover vertically towards the stage. You charge up Fludd to the max then shoot down on Bowser and he's sent plummeting to his doom. Amazing edge guard! ^_^

Mabye you could push people like Ike when they do a laggy attack then give them punishment.

I think you guys are overestimating the knockback of F.L.U.D.D. It's not knockback is like the wind from that kirby stage in 64 and melee, so it's not that great.

Like Meta Knight or Sonic.
