as i have shown before i really care about who will voice sonic in this game (SSBB) a lot and i have checked there is no thread for this so please post who you think is the best voice for sonic and why i say ryan drummond because let's face it he was the best he sounded excited young and showed a lot of emotion now you're probably thinking why does it matter for smash? no one talks that much anyways so who cares well imagine if everytime you win do a move or win a match or see sonic in subspace emissary you have to hear jason griffith butcher sonic's voice to no end sounding high like in sonic rush i turned the sound off because everytime i did a trick i had to hear griffith fake excitement YEAH OK ALRIGHT i only heard the music as blaze becuase she had a good voice so it is important discuss....

Ryan sounded like a nasally, hyperactive 21 year old. That's in contrast to Sonic's cool-headness. Jason could do the witty part of his character. But, either way, both actors weren't that great.

People are overreacting to Jason. They both weren't very good actors. However, Ryan brought a lot of character to Sonic, and Jason's pitch shift in any and all conversations and stuff sounds stupid. "Our team is well trained there's nothing to get in our way whoawhoa". Hard to express it, he just talks weird.

But the acting on the part of all the cast was terrible on SA, so I don't really care. I don't like the 3D games anyway.

Unfortunely Jason already voices Sonic anyway. So too late for that,but I don't think his voice is gonna get in the way too much. I saw people that were impressed with "Sonic's my Name, Speeds my Game". Some people at 1st though it WAS Drummond. So unless he speaks alot of dialouge in the SE which I doubt. Would Sakauri give all the talking to Sonic while all or most characters are almost always silent or make noises. But the voice will not bother me from using Sonic. It's not the voice that counts, it's the character. Heck, if Sonic sounded like he was on weed. I'd still main him. Just because in a person's opinion that the voice sucks, doesn't mean the character will suck. Remember, new Sonic fans know that this his voice in the games, and is already new to it. While older fans such as myself dislike the voice, we can live with it, sleep with it, and move along with it. Does that are that sensitive just aren't true Sonic fans. C'mon peoples it's SONIC a Video game ICON. One who rivaled MARIO. If you turn away just because of the voice, your stripped of your title as a Sonic fan. [/RANT}

i agree but we can try to change it like you can call the front desk or something but yes sonic will still be awesome but there's nothing good about blind fandom sonic 06 sucked fans should be bothered the VAs suck we as fans should at least try by the way ryan is a proffesional actor jasons a no talent hack and i thought there was a lot of emotion in SA2 and heroes so im still emailing sega of japan calling nintendo and so are many others we as fans owe it to ourselves to at least try

There were 2 main reasons for the new voice actors.

1. Tails Voice actor in SA1 and SA2 got too old for Tails (Sega couldn't afford to bump up Tails age like they did Amy for some Reason. It's also the reason Tails had a new voice that was even WORSE then the 4kids one)

And 2. Robotnik/Eggman's SA1 & SA2 voice Died after Sonic Heroes

I was ticked about Jason being his voice actor too, but, let's face it, whining about it won't change anything. The fact is that this is Sonic the freaking hedgehog, voice does not = character. Heck, I'm glad sonic has a voice at all, it would really suck to me if all he did was yell "Wahoo!" or "hyaaah!!"

I didn't care either voice actor of sonic, though Ryan seemed a little better. I like Eggman's voice and Metal Sonic's from Sonic Heroes. Tails's is just BAD. However, even his voice I can tolerate more than the 4kids incarnation of Vector. "Find the Computer Room!" *shudders*

well the old eggman voice has passed on and tails's got too old but there is NO excuse to change the rest I HATED 4KIDS BEFORE NOW THEY MESSED WITH SONIC AND NOW I HATE THEM WITH A PASSION not to mention the english version of sonicx sucks ok i know they have to take out the cursing but crapping up the theme song and than taking out the music (live and learn,open your heart etc) and than adding music at the wrong time and than guess what 4kids says NO maria never died hence my pissed offness at 4kids not to mention they messed with kirby but that's a whole nother story

Flame me all that you people'd like, but at least I'm not kicking a dead horse here and constantly complaining because Ryan Drummond doesn't happen to be doing the voice.

"Sonic's the name! Speed's my game!" It was such a great line, and the way he said it felt like it would open up a phenominal performance by the blue blur. And phenominal we got in that video. Jason Griffith, Ryan Drummond, Jaleel White for all that I care. Sonic the Hedgehog is all that I need, and if you're hung up on some voice, then I'll be flat-out honest when I say that I feel sorry for you.

Move on. Jason Griffith is voicing Sonic the Hedgehog and that's that. Enjoy playing the wicked character.

Smashbro29. You should NEVER care who is voicing who in a Smash Bros. game at least. It's not the voice that make characters great. It's the characterrs themselves. I was personally annoyed that they had Japanese voices for Marth and Roy in the game Melee but that does that stop me from wanting people to not play as them? No. If I tried, would it happen? No. I'd get dozens of GTFOs if I said it right there.

C'mon SB29 it's SONIC. The hedgehog that has made Nintendo worry from 1991 to 2001. I'd still main Sonic if he had the most retarded & worst voice in the game.

And the Japanese version is awesome. Just listening to some of the taunts on Melee in Japanese was really cool (Fox's ftw!!!)

i have said in previous posts that i know it won't ruin sonic but regardless of voice it should still bother us fans that the games are on a huge decline(sonic06 the "the rebirth of sonic")
