Metal/Shadow Mario?

I'm just thinking, should Metal or Shadow Mario be used as an alternate costume? I know we will probabaly see the Metal Box again (which defeats the purpose) but he did have a slightly important role in SM64... and to me as a solo character would be redundant. The chances due to the metal box are about 0%, but it would be nice.
As for Shadow Mario, yes I am aware it is Baby Bowser, and he could easily get a entirely different moveset, but just thinking out loud.

Metal Mario, no. Shadow Mario, yes. And it actually could happen, seen as Link has a Dark Link alt.

It's Bowser Jr., not Baby Bowser. Why only Metal Mario though? He had plenty of other caps in SM64? I highly doubt either will be a costume for Mario.

shadow mario would be cool, a lot of characters have a dark costume, why should he be an exception?

Not every character needs a dark costume, you're not evil, or dark in any way, and Mario's costumes are pinned. the bad guy always looks cool, but the bad guy always looses.
