Dedede's FS confirmed

How powerful do you think it will be, I for one hope the waddle dees arn't that escapable because only a handful are on the screen at once. I wonder what happens to King dedede if he gets hit by someone...

Im pretty sure Dedede has that Tough armor or whatever..like he wont take damage while doing his FS or flinch or anything if he gets hit

A lot of the Final smashes seem to be really similar (read. the same) and Dedede's FS is just Pit's with waddle doo's ... I am rather dissapointed with this one.

The waddles doos and centaurians are different.


The Waddle Doos actually stay on the stage and fight.

The centaurians just fly at them.

Gordos are usually around.

Not to mention, the Waddle Dees infinitly spawn untill Dededes juice is gone. And they actually fight, like Kirby. Not to mention, most of em are invincible.

Dedede cant move though.. What are YOU talking about? He's the last boss of Kirby games so his fs should of been more impresive. His Ulitmate Move shouldn't consist of loser minions.

judging from the pics the yoshi seems like he is going to get a decent amount of knockback, it also seems like it will need to be used very carefully because he does seem very exposed, especially from above. :laugh:

If they come out in a set pattern it could mean a lot more damage to KD than he is going to do to his opponent

no it doesn't. pits army flys in from the sky and just attack and knock people off while flying straight through.

for dedede they fall from the sky. they will deal damage if they land on someone. we can assume it that there will not be as as many as pits army. he gets a variety in his army. it looks like they will be easier to knock off then pit's. they travel across the ground and break the descrutable objects when they fall. we can see the waddle dee jumping. it means they will have some sort of AI. we can aslo assume that dedede has super heavy army while this is being performed. dedede being the person he is he just sits back and lets them fight for him. But pit can move arround and use his army as destractions to start combos. so it is nothing like pits. the only thing that they share that it is a army fighting for them.

see king dedede. he looks like he is sitting back and watching the action. i am pretty conident that he will have super heavy armour. Aslo it fits his persona

I love how Sakurai tries to justify his lack of imagination by saying "b-but, these waddle dees are SUPER FAST! and they run into you hard, you may get swept away!"

Seriously, it's like a universal fallback option: the stampede final smash. Too lazy and uncreative to come up with an original super move? Just make the character summon up a stampede of things from his/her game. Every fan loves to see representation from their games, so there's nothing wrong with coming up with stuff like a stampede of yoshis/metroids/centurions/polar bears/goombas/microgames, right?!

Sakurai needs to try harder.

So you have played Brawl and first hand seen how bad Pits FS is have you? Even if you went to E for all it would be hard to fully understand how to utilise a FS.

I don't see how having an army come to your aid while you move around and fight freely could be a bad thing (referring to Pit, and there is no way you could have seen KD's FS in action so you can't comment on it being useless).

And as for Sakurai needing to try harder, hardly any of the final smashes have been similar at all, and they all carry either a feature from that characters history, or hit that characters personality spot on (King Dedede is lazy, mean and arrogant, this FS fits him perfectly).

Hmm.. well I was excited to see Dedede's final smash, but when I actually ended up reading through it all... it just seemed kind of "meh", to me. Sure it sort of suits his persona, but it lacked the... I'm not sure.. the "umph"? ...That other final smashes have had.

Wow, I can't believe so many have already played this game. I mean, because you obviously can't tell the quality of a FS from just a few pictures and a description.

Seriously, all we can do at this moment on his FS is judge how it fits the character(Which I think it does so perfectly). To Judge the quality you would need:
How fast they move
How hard they hit
Are they easily knocked off?
How long does it last?
How much damage do the Gordos do?
Is he vulnerable during the FS?
and much, much more.

This update didn't give us any of that, so be patient. I'm sure his FS will be great.

Anyways, to those who say Pit's FS is usless, you obviously havn't seen it. It's like10 or so Hitmonlees coming at you and comboing you in the air. Dedede's doesn't seem to be like that, but you can probably position enemies in order to knock them out.

Hmmm i wonder if the Waddle Dee Army can get attack like Palutena’s Army. Also is it me or do the Waddle Dee Army look like they landing and then jumping off the stage. I also don't see any Waddle landing near or on top of Dedede. So you may be able to stay on top of Dedede to dodge the army. Ugh thinking to much into it. And yes it does look nice.

When I first saw this I was avidly againced it ( I mean where was the dark matter transformation?). But now that I think about it, DeDeDe spent much more time comanding minions in the game than being a boss. Now I'm kind of confused as to why Bowser didn't get a hoard of Gumbas for his final smash, jk.
