special abilities for kirby from swallowing

hey ya'll i've been thinking about kirby's swallow ability. say, for example, if he swallowed pit, meta knight, or charizard, he would get the ability to glide like them as long as he still has their copied power. the same goes to every other character who have a unique ability, should kirby swallow them. this might be one way to un-nerf kirby. they still would have a lot of work to do. what do you guys think?

it would work the same way you would use glide with pit, or meta knight. with others it might be different.

well theretically no...because kirby AND metaknight AND pit all have 5 mid-air jumps...but meta and pit can glide afterwards....kirby jus falls

yeah and kirby has been nerfed down seriously. and think of jigglypuff. she can use the rising pound to stay in the air and cover some serious horizontal ground. i think this is what kirby would need(or at least one thing he would need, they need to fix him and make him better.)

And I'm not expecting any kind of change to Kirby's copying. He's already been buffed in a number of ways, and his B move was never the reason he sucked.

Before I saw the pic of the kirby with the DeDeDe hat I wonder what he would get by sucking him up, but my thoughts were that he gets a soar jaw.

i don't think kirbys been buffed enough Zek. he sucked in melee and need to make him better. at least enough that he can stand on his own with most characters. and getting the ability to glide like pit or MK would be a nice touch. it would also help kirby be higher on the tier list.

the problem with copying other people's specials is that Kirby, say if he swallowed Marth (assuming he is put in Brawl), he would be uber powerful. Fox is another example. Unless, he only got one ability, as well as their neutral-b, thatd probably be ok.

i didn't say kirby would be powerful. i only thought of specials as a benefit for kirby. he would not be powerful like marth or fox. we don't even know if they have unique abilities like MK or pit. but it would be something that could help kirby survive longer in battle, or give him an edge over his opponents on occasion.

I never thought of this ability. But yeah, I think if kirby say swallowed bowser, he should gain wiehgt for the copy... or fox, he would be a little faster.... never thought of gliding though

yea i forgot one thing: the final cutter. unlike meta knights up B, i don't know if kirby could cancel out of the final cutter into a glide if he were to obtain the glide ability from swallowing meta knight or pit. but we can still hope.

I don't think they need to do that because teh reason why kirby was a good character to me wasn't because of his ability to copy, it was more of his aerial attacks

Well, it's been confirmed that Kirby gains wings if he copies a winged character... though he doesn't use them for jumping. Gliding has yet to be seen. And Meta Knight Kirby is creepy.

well they finally revealed his hats today. i'm both glad and disappointed. they didn't show sonic's hat but i saw kirby have meta knights and pits wings, which leads me to believe that he can glide like them. i hope it becomes true. come on sakurai, please!

I don't think that he gets the gliding ability. I think they (the wings) are just for show. The whole point of his neutral B is to get a new neutral b, that is it. Notice in the pic with Pit's hat he's puffed up, meaning he's just doing his normal floaty jumps, not using the wings.

edit: Also that would basically give him godly recovery, and his recovery is not to shabby already.

Yeah, gliding being given to Kirby from certain characters does seem viable now, because those wings seriously look like small add-ons that I have trouble believing are only for show...

I guess at least we know that Kirby will be getting tiny Charizard wings then right?

Well I mean it's common sense...why would kirby get an ability that has absolutely nothing to do with his neutral b? His neutral b is there to be replaced. Gliding is linked to jumping for chrissake. It has nothing to do with special moves.

we'll see about that. the reason he has the swallow ability is to copy the power of his foes. it would seem pointless to have the wings for show only. they must have a use.

They do have a use. That's already been covered in this topic. For show. And don't say that that's not a reasonable use, because a lot of stuff has been done in brawl that has no purpose other than for aesthetic improvement.
