In the subspace emissary videos Kirby fight Petey but in the nintendo press conference video on Oct 10 we see mario fighting petey. So it could be whoever loses the match between mario and kirby fights petey.

In another video we see players playing as kirby and a option of peach soon after the boss battle with petey when they land on halberd. So anyway that ****er saved peach instead of zelda. But if he saved zelda wouldnt that mean we could of played as her and find out her down b?

It did have two health bars, but the one for Peach was just cut off, which is why the battle seemingly ends before the bar is reduced to zero.
