Stop calling him a penguin!

DeDeDe is not a penguin! He is an eagle! A fat eagle!

Ask Sakurai yourself.

It says so in the first game's booklet.

He is a penguin with a hammer. He looks EXACTLY like a cartoon penguin. He doesnt look remotely close to an eagle . I don't know what the hell you're talking about.

I even called someone and said, "Dude, did you know DeDeDe is not a penguin?"

This all reminds me of the first time I saw some official artwork of Dedede. When I saw him on the cover art seen on the Kirby's Avalanche box, I thought he was some random penguin without realizing it was him.

Ah, the blissful ignorance of childhood...:p

Anyway, he looks more like a penguin than an eagle, so don't get worked up so much over it.

According to his Kirbypedia (http://kirby.classicgaming.gamespy.com/kirbypedia/index.php/King_Dedede_%28Games%29) entry he is a chubby, blue-feathered penguin wearing a red, fur-trimmed robe and a red hat with a gold rim and a white puff on top. (quoted)

And what looks eagle-like at him? I can't find a link between him and a eagle.
Dynablade from Kirby Super Star is AFAIK a eagle.

Dude a penguin could possibly have a use for a giant mallet. Like killing all the fish, an eagle cannot fly while holding a giant mallet. and grounded eagles would get eaten upzord by all of the woodland animals. So your wrong no johns MM?

He doesn't look much like an eagle. Even if he technically were (which I don't think he is) an eagle, I'd still call him a penguin, because it more accurately describes what he looks like.

Plus, penguins are awesome.

king dedede is definatly penguin. unless sakurai mixed up a penguin and eagle(thats REALY HARD to do).

B: talons
C. a killer instinct, penguins hunt because they are hungry, eagles hunt for blood. Dedede, no matter his mental state, isn't a killer.
D. penguins have more need for winterwear

The only thing that's missing is talons.

And peguins don't need winterwear, they live in cold environments just find without it.

Haha, both were pure gold. But yeah, he's clearly a penguin or atleast penguin-like, moreso than an eagle anyway >.> I've never heard *anything* about this said eagle.
