Is it just me or does the lag after his spin attck seems gone or just has less?
Well as you just seen in the video he did a spin attack and walked to the capsule the second it was finished. In melee there was always that one second you were vulnerable to an attck if you missed that spin attck.
Am i right? Or am i just believing what i want to believe? Link mains help me out here!!! I need to read other people's opinions!

Awesome, no more lag on it! Seems the lag has been downplayed on his aerial up-b too. Awesome stuff! :chuckle:
Looks like you're right:)
brawl link = GOD Tier XD
I'm still seeing the vulnerability time there, although it does look like it has been reduced.

If you're referring to the Sword Plant at around 1:00, the move just ends before he hits the ground. It has a maximum duration before he puts his sword away on his own...the same thing happens in Melee if you can stay in the air long enough (usually only after bouncing off multiple people, assuming you're in the habit of fastfalling it onto the primary target).
And in regards to the Spin Attack, it doesn't look any less laggy to me...if it is, it's only very slightly. What IS true, though, is that it seems to send Bowser at a higher trajectory. He stays in the air longer and goes further than he should have at such a low percent, making the move a lot less punishable at low percents if you hit. The unusually large amount of time it takes for Bowser to get back over to him might be what makes it seem less laggy.

I don't think Link looks much faster period, but it could have just been the player.
As for the less lag on the spin attack, maybe, it would be nice. I know it drove me nuts sometimes on its slow recovery.

sweet who can argue with making Links lag time almost disappear ;)
The only problem is they say his up B has been nerfed a bit which is a downer

It seems like it was reduced but there's still some lag because the first time Link uses the upB Bowser just runs in there right after it and grabs him.

Maybe it has more lag if it's charged up? As in, the uncharged version is a 'quick' spin attack, while the charged is a 'heavy' spin attack? It would make sense from a physio-kinetic standpoint: The faster he's moving = the more momentum he has = the more damage he does. At the same time, more momentum = greater amount of friction required to come to rest.

While that is all true, if you read Gimpyfish's E 4 all report he says that L canceling doesn't only cut lag in half but eliminates it completely.
I think he also said that there is less lag on the up B

Link's definitely gotten faster and with reduced lag times, it's just too bad they had to get rid of his semi-spike. Sigh... I'll get over it...

there still seemed to be a certain amount of lag at the end of the attack, maybe not as much as was in meele but a slight amount to say the least. Link does look faster as well as bowser so maybe the fights in general are.

the physics lesson was nice, and makes sense, since they are using a new physics engine or something?

Link is sooo much faster now. =]
That Boweser in the vid was pretty pro lol
lol@Link with super spicy curry XD
I actually like Link's new up+b..
The speed of it makes up for the loss of semi-spike.

Well it does seem to have lost it's lagg alot which is gr8 cause Link's supposed to be more balanced rather than in Melee when he wasn't heavy class but still a bit slow.
He's alot faster now than in Melee and the Hero's Bow is like AWESOMELY speedy Wohoo! LINK FTW!!

Actually Link is pretty fat. I mean he isn't like falco but he weighs enough to counter his little speed issue.
He's not that heavy because he's not that slow. He seems really slow because every body and their grandmother plays Fox and falco. He is also balanced out by his strength and projectiles. He's probably the closest thing to an all around character there is in melee.

O sweet! Your right there is less lag. That'll be freakishly important in brawl. Thanx for pointing that out :)

The only thing that is disapointing that I've heard is that u can't "spike" people on the ledge with b^ anymore. That true?

Sweet less lag, but less power =(. O well, its always the speed and power exchange.
Thechene
12-15-2007, 09:43 PM
unless its the: speed/power/priority/super armor exchange
also area and length of duration
i'd say all of these qualites are played up and down when balancing

the power of the spin attack went down because it's now chargeable. it probably has the same power it did in melee once charged. the only bad thing about the spin attack having very little post lag anymore is that it's *groans* even easier for noobs to spam...
