What exactly does Link do when he enters the ring... it's not his SSB entrance... it seems like he just does a spin dash but...
Can someone please tell me what happens exactly if they've played the demo?

looks as if he comes in either riding the tornado of his Gale Boomerang or maybe with the item Farore's Wind or maybe via Ballad of the Gales or w/e.... I dunno...all I know is that it looks like a mini-twister thing...

It's the tornado from Zelda 1, for those who missed the reference.
Play the flute that oddly looks like an ocarina in Zelda 1 and it warps you in the next screen in a tornado

I agree with Psycho. However I think it's the least cool possible entrance for Link. I was really hoping for the whole 'dark matter' teleport from TP...

Yeah, true. However, that tornado entrance is old skool though.

The weird thing is that by basing him on the TP link, they SHOULD have given him a TP intro. Him having all this TP stuff and then giving a Zelda 1 intro is weird.

Waaaait a tic...this may seem a bit off and I'm not speaking this as the gospel truth, but...
Didn't TP Link warp into places in Twilight squares made by Midna while in wolf form? Well, if they didn't use that (the most obvious entrance for TP) maybe, just maaaaybe...
Midna and/or Wolf Link confirmed?

hmm, i was hoping for his ssb intro, the one from ocarina of time.......
(there's a chance characters get multiple intro's though.... look at the taunts!)
anyway.....old school stuff should be in, as they will put *legend of zelda* in his profile (debute game)

I don't think not teleporting in TP fasion means anything about Wolf Link as a character.
I do think they didn't use that for a reason, though. I mean, in TP, you can ONLY do that as Wolf Link. More technically, you can only do it when Midna is actually there with you, and not just hiding in your shadow. So in order to remain true to the game, they couldn't give Link that entrance unless they were going to have him 'port in as Wolf Link then transform.
Sure, they've done wierd things in Smash before. Giving Zelda the OoT magic when she never could use it in OoT, for instance. But just because we never saw her use it, doesn't mean she wasn't able to. In TP, we specifically see that Midna can only teleport when she's in the realm. I applaud the fact that they didn't go against the game.
I never realised it was from Zelda 1, though. I thought it was just some random tornado, or that he was somehow using the Gale Boomerang. Been a long time since I played Zelda, totally forgot. Rings a bell now that its mentioned, though.

actually, here's were you're wrong...
if you won a boss battle, you'll be warped out BY Midna and IN human form.
and if you're human, Midna hides in your shadow!
Guess you totally forgot about that?
(its wierd that only then you can be twili-warped as human)

After bosses, you get teleported via swirling wind. This happens in TWW and TP.

have you even played twilight princess?
i just finished a boss (playing for a second time) and its midna warping
and there's more to it....
when you defeated beast ganon, midna warps link and zelda without going with them!
you dont need midna to be with you after all...
I mean during the warping, she does need to activate it.
I know everything about every zelda game since a link to the past.
and oh yeah, didnt you notice link's not in the update about entrances?
maybe that entrance at the e for everyone is beta?

Well if that was the case wouldn't you expect sakurai to make each of his moves from different series, rather than all from the same (minus the intro)?

OH! That makes so much more sense now. I totally forgot about that.
I'm kind of glad he doesn't do the twilight warp thingie. Regardless of whether or not Minda needs to be directly with him for it to work, the fact remains that it is explicitly Midna's power. Link as an individual has no twilight-related powers whatsoever, so warping in like that would imply that Midna is just sitting around somewhere ferrying him to and from his battles, which would be kind of odd...doubly so if she turns out to be playable herself.

The spin attack is in all 3d zelda titles, and you can charge it in OOT and WW, as well as being in most 2d games since LttP. Bombs are in every game except for AoL, the boomerang is in most games, though they added the effect from tha gale boomerang because it is just freakin awesome, arrows are in most games. His down-air and up-air are taken directly from AoL. This is only the tip of the iceberg, but I believe they are doing very well at incorporationg themes from every game, they just wanted to use TP style becaue it looks cool/is most recent, though he is by no means restricted to TP.

When I first saw Link's new intro I thought it may have been the Song of Soaring from Majora's Mask, but someone mentioned the Zelda I flute and that makes it more awesome. Retro references for the win!

I agree, the design of his weapons and such is just done because it's most known for zelda rookies (hehehe thats what i call beginners) and because they just plain look awesome.
Gale boomerang is put in because many characters had these wierd new moves (replacing older moves I.E. Mario B down) this makes the game even more hectic and BETTER!

Ya actually, it doesn't matter whatsoever, as long as Link is Link!

The tornado thing is pretty kool but I would've like to see him appear in one of those twilight portal thing. But hey what can you do:ohwell:

In addition to the old flute the tornado could be a 3-d representation of the warping gale seeds from the Oracle games.

You know, the tornado thing is a nice nod to the classic, but in all reality, it's not as cool as the one Link has from SSB64.

He should incorporate moves form all his game sinto the moveset...definently without a doubt. It'd make it more historically reminiscent and a beautiful nob to true zelda fans

No, the gale boomerang can't transport him. It has to be the Zelda I flute or the gale seeds.

His SSB one was nice too.
