New Character #3's Special Moves

<p>Been a while coming, and when this character was announced we were told what some of it’s special moves would be, today we’ve been shown them. Read on for more!</p>

<p>Diddy’s got the best jungle technology available, and he makes use of it well. </p>

<strong>Neutral Special</strong><br />
Peanut popguns: He fires in spurts. f he shoots you, it’s gonna hurt. You can hold down B to fire more shots, getting faster, but hold them too long and your gun goes up in smoke. Also, the peanut shells break on impact and occasionally drop apeanut which can be eaten for minor HP recovery.</p>

<p><strong>Up Special</strong><br />
Rocketbarrel Boost: If you hold B when using this attack, it charges up and flies higher. This attack is also able to be angled while charging.</p>

<p>Of note is if Diddy gets hit during this the jetpack goes off without him. This can aparently happen sometimes without interference too.</p>

It'd be awesome to see Diddy use his ^b, then have Samus/Snake fire a missle at him, shoot him out of the air, and make his jetpack go flying away.

1337Marth, we were told these were his moves when he was announced, besides everyone who has played DK64 knew these moves would be in it.

He's obv the new Pichu. Gun exploding? Weird movements? Rubbish recovery which you can blow up? Sounds lame to me, Diddy for Pichu's place in tiers!

P.S I am kidding so don't just delete my post again mmk? I just really hate diddy.

Don't be, Peach already uses items in non Item matches. I think lot's of characters will have this ability in Brawl a la warios throwing bike thing that he can chuck about.

You can't say anything about healing Peanuts...

Exploading Gun = 5 Damage

Peanut = 3 Recovery

Final Gain = 2 Damage.

If it went anything like that then it works. I'm sure the Peanuts explode when hitting someone or something, and I'm also sure that other characters can pick them up too.

Secondly, how presumptuous do you want to be? It says if you hold down the gun for too long it explodes. The peanuts come out if the shell hits...so they will be way more frequent, that's the logical thing to think.

How the hell do you predict those damages anyway? It's more likely that they won't be fixed anyway...gawd...

and besides, with havok in place (very likely) explosions will be more realistic with varied damage.

There was many different foods though. I think Diddy will only use One Peanut.

The blogs for the other two characters and their movesets were put under the CHARACTER SPOILERS category. So should this. If you read this from the blog page, the article sample makes no mention of Diddy Kong.

good update.diddy's up-b also(slightly)conforms havoc in brawl.though i think diddys hardly the new pichu. pichu hits fast and runs, while diddy is dk but faster..:confused:.theres similarities but otherwise their different.

I'm assuming it'll be the same as say.. Game & Watch's #7 Hammer (Drops 1 Food) which I have never heard anyone complain about. Also, when you think about it... I also assume that in order for the Peanut Shell to Break it has to hit something or someone. So potentially... if the Peanut hits an Enemy, theres a chance the peanut food will drop right beside the enemy, recovering a portion of Diddy's enemies health... Hardly what I call broken.

These moves are disappointing though. The idea of 'jungle' technology being insufficient is ridiculous. His Peanut Pop gun exploding is okay, especially if it only explodes after a fixed amount of time, but his rocket boost randomly blows up in the air? Time to make a recovery!... or not.

Sakurai seems to be wanting to give chargeable B moves to every character. Either it's a lame-horse way to add more to old characters because they ran out of ideas, or it will make projectiles a whole lot more versatile. Maybe both.

Perhaps Diddy will have superior speed and jumping power anyway. He might even take less frames to attack foes.

You shouldnt complain about the gun exploding, it wont take that long to figure out how long it takes for it blow up and stop it happening in the future. the peanuts are an advantage to both you and your opponent, and by the looks of it the food doesnt come out every time. His up b recovery reminds me of lugis side b only its vertical and horizontal, if someone interupts diddys up b, he can just charge again and shoot up (probably not as high) while the opponent is bombarded with the barrels.

I bet when the gun explodes, Diddy is damaged equal to the amount of health that the peanut heals, so it can never be used for his own benefit.

if you held roys move down long enough same thing. anyway im glad Diddygot these moves. not all the characters have to have serious movesets so im glad Sakurai went this route with Diddy. Jungle technology hence why the pop gun blows up so dont count on that for fox. definately not the new Pichu. for whoever is saying it.

If his Peanuts are like Game and Watch's 7 food, if the food item is turned off, they won't appear. (Which I was disapointed by. :( )

I wonder how often the peanut shells yield peanuts. It seems like an interesting attack. especially if it's used long range, it seems as if the target of the attack would be the most likely to benefit from the peanut.

Why are you worried about his third jump? Most characters get their third jumps interrupted when hit. What's the difference with Diddy (other than his jet packs becoming missiles)?

He's probably worried that like Wario's bike, Diddy might only be allowed to have one jetpack on screen at a time.

Otherwise, it's a cool attack.

Maybe. But I hope not. If not, the barrels will be launched off and probably damage an enemy. I'm also guessing that when it flies off on its own, its about as rare as Luigi's Rocket move 'exploding' and it will probably come off at the peak of the jump, otherwise that would just be plain unfair.

That would mean the Peanut is obtainable through other means. Anyway, Bombs and Vegetables aren't turned off when items are, maybe this will emulate that.

It's not like tourneys would ban Diddy either way. Ness has the ability to heal with his PSI Magnet.

If anything Diddy's up b is better than other characters. Even if he's jump is interrupted he still gets a final bang. Unlike warios bike Sakurai didn't state Diddy only had one jetpack. So if Diddy touches ground he'll have another jetpack attack.

I'm pretty sure Diddy kong had 2 pop guns in DK64 not 1

How do you know for an absolute fact that Fox's blaster won't have a disabling feature that is similar to Diddy's? This isn't Melee. Yes Diddy did have two popguns in DK64 however SSB isn't entirely canon to the respective franchises.

Perhaps, but Sakurai doesn't reveal absolutely everything about the characters now does he? So you really don't know if Fox has any negative repercussions of using his blaster.
