Standard Update for Standard Combos

Monday can’t always have the good updates. Today Sakurai gives more info on the basics, being Standard Combo’s. What’s a standard combo? Mash A and you’ve got it. Due to the controller issue, they’re now easier to do. Instead of mashing A to perform these, all you need to do is just hold A.

Other than that, the only other bit of news is regarding Metaknights neutral A, which consists of “an unbelievably rapid sequence of slices.” If you’ve played Jump Ultimate stars (and if you haven’t, go play it, it’s awesome) it’s just like Bankai Ichigo’s Neutral A. A pile of fast, hard to see sword swipes around the main character. More than likely, expect there to be some lag after the attack.

I think this can have a bigger impact then you let on this can have an effect on the depth of the game.

3rd post! if meta knights attack is so rapid then each swipe would only do like 1% damage, right? or maybe .5% and the computer rounds off the damage.

I wonder if this button holding makes it easier for the net code so online will run smoother?

Well it will define differing players’ fighting styles. Do they go for holding the button for the Hold combos, or do they tap repeatedly for faster (or for Meta Knight, slower) combos? It should be noted that the latter is based on endurance, so you can tell a tired opponent from one that can keep using the tap combo.

I wonder if we’ll see another character announced before E3. Holding A instead of pressing might be beneficial for some, maybe for those who just began or it could be a new kind of C-stick, making moves that were previously impossible possible.

If we do see another character it’s gonna be a vet like Capt. Falcon. This might make a massive difference in people’s games but I’m still not to excited about it.
