That's the problem of the Geno thread, and dare I say the entire speculation community.

They take all of this talk about upcoming fighters way too seriously, and It gets to the point that they take the minimum disagreement (be It "I don't really care about this character" or "I would rather have someone else in") as a personal attack or an offense.

People in the community need to realize that, in the end of all things, this is just a game for teens.
Getting this extremely invested on who gets in or not is too unhealthy and can leave to really unwanted stress or mental health issues.

I dare say that character and speculation wars are as bad as console wars online, with the difference being that console wars are way more easy to find anywhere you go.

I'm not even here for the speculation anymore.

Agreed, JDC. Granted, I do think I could have done some things better back there, but it seems Geno fans are way too invested in terms of wanting Geno in, and they don't realize it. It's like a drug, if anything.

I tried helping them before, even before today. Like you said, it is just a game. They got mad at me about a character in a game, and the positivity around it. Quite sad.

Sorry that happened. There's a reason I left the geno thread a while back too. A lot of them want to believe in geno so bad that they overlook the other side. I agree it's not healthy mentally. There's nothing wrong with optimism, I love positivity, but it shouldn't at the price of being level-headed or pushing away everyone who disagrees with some things.
Lately I mostly just hang around the Shantae thread because I lost a little energy to speculate in general, but I'll always like smash so I'll still be around here and there

I will still support Geno, nut not with them. I would not be surprised if those guys did get angry and throw a fit over Geno not being in if that happens. I swear that they don't realize it, and even twist others words that are against them.

I'm a really simple man honestly.

Be It a Mii costume or a fighter, I am completely fine with the character just getting any presence at all.

Which is why I would genuiely be happy about seeing someone I really want like Alex Kidd or Mettaton as Mii costumes if fighters were not possible for the team.

Those would be cool, actually.

Anyway, I think those Geno fans need to see therapists because there is a lot they don't seem to know about themselves. Not everyone knows everything about themselves, let alone one another, right?

And I do not mean they need therapists as a way to be condescending and mean. I was just concerned. I don't mean it as if I think they are really ill or are manchildren either. Not at all. I just think they need to understand more of what they may be thinking, and think of the consequences.

I agree that they do need to meet a therapist.

I used to be in a Discord server filled with a lot of them... They take all of this seriously.

One time an entire chat of the server gave me the middle finger emote over sharing the picture of a LEGO Mario set I wanted to buy because "supporting LEGO Mario only makes Nintendo keep abusing their price taxes and constant delivery of bad products", another time they went after some Paper Mario fan who made a hack of Paper Mario 64 to look like Origami King or Colour Splash, and one person in specific who I will not name told me to **** off their lifes after helping them kinda stop a suicide while helping them find artistic value over having a peaceful disagree with something Fatman said about Lloyd being in (which he took decently enough, but everyone else took It badly).

They seriously need an expert to tell them to calm down and not take It that serious.

The Paper Mario stuff wasn't over Geno (just a seriously Deep hatred they had for Modern Paper Mario), the LEGO Mario stuff may or may have not be about Geno, but the thing with the person who almost committed suicide was 100% over Geno.

Whatever reasons they have: they do need help.

A well designed geno mii costume like how sans got treated would be a really good compromise if he wasn't destined to be a fighter.

I would be really fine with that Mii costume, as I'm sure the Smash team would make It look as good as possible.

I see. Those guys are seriously messed up. Glad I left the Geno thread then.

But, if they do get depressed and seriously angry, which I think they are trying to hide, I would love to grab the popcorn and watch the fire and hell they create and see what happens. They really are setting themselves up for possible disappointment. Knowing the human mind, I know that is likely to be the case.

That said, remember the first Shrek movie, where Fiona was worried about Donkey, and he says he will be fine, but Fiona says "That's what they all say, then you're on your back.....dead"? They won't die, but they will be angry if they keep this up.

I don't like to see anyone being miserable, but I do figure they'll be extremely upset when they see geno either not in at all or a mii costume again.

And @JDCabrera yeah, I definitely want to play the new HW, though I may wait to get it, I've kinda used a lot of money on other things XD

And the thing is, I wasn't trying to tell them to be not optimistic, but have balance in their expectations. That is better than anything else, I must say. I have seen some people have good balance, unlike the Geno thread.

And some people there called me childish. I say how most of how they reacted was childish. Besides, they did not act angry when Geno was not revealed so far because they know there is always next time. What if Geno does not show up for FP2 at all?

Yeah I get it. When someone is so drastically biased, even 'middle-ground' can trigger resistance, it happens to me too because I tend to try to find middle grounds as well. (or balanced)

And by resistance, they don't want to listen. I say they are using the fact that the pass has not ended as an excuse to not listen to others and continue being blindly positive.
