At the very least, there's currently a Snagglepuss animated series in development (or at the very least it hasn't been publicly written off yet). So if legacy isn't enough I could see him getting the nod down the road, perhaps.

If I had to pick a Digimon, I'd say Gomamon or Patamon would be my favorite. Though Patamon is definitely the easier of the two to envision in Smash (as awesome as Zudomon is). Plus Angemon is awesome. He's just so cool.

For what it's worth the gap between Awakening and Fates can be explained by the fact that they had to make three games...and even then it only took an extra year lol. The two year gap is absolutely the standard. The only times in the history of the franchise where there was more than a two year...
